Our Wines

Since the arrival of the Huguenots in 1688, the Franschhoek valley has always been known as a haven of tranquillity, exceptional beauty and fine food and wine.

Le Manoir de Brendel is a family-owned estate where all grapes are harvested by hand. The very best bunches are sorted from the lower-quality ones and 80% of the vineyards are planted with red varieties and 20% with white.

All grapes are harvested by hand from selected low yielding vines. On sorting tables we remove all bunches which do not meet our high standard. Le Manoir de Brendel stands for attention to detail according to centuries old tradition of winemaking. Our red wines undergo a first fermentation in the tank, followed by a second fermentation in barrels and are finally matured on oak for 16 to 19 months

The guest house is nestled in approximately 30 hectares of vineyards in Franschhoek. In this mild and sunny climate in the shadow of the mountains, we grow grape varieties of Shiraz, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Semmilon and Chardonnay.
